General Information

NUTRITION 2024 is the American Society for Nutrition’s (ASN) annual flagship meeting which will be held June 29July 2, in Chicago, IL.  This three day event will offer new, original science presentations, featured sessions, award lectures and career recognition, professional development, and networking/Groups Engaging Members (GEM) functions. 

NUTRITION 2024 will be held June 29-July 2, 2024, in Chicago, IL. You should plan to arrive by mid-day on Saturday, June and depart late in the afternoon on July 2. Pre-Conference activities may also be scheduled for Friday, June 28thand Saturday morning, June 29th. More detailed program information will be available by the end of February 2024.  

If you are a researcher, practitioner, global and public health professional, policymaker, advocacy leader, industry professional, member of the media, or anyone working to advance nutrition science and its practical application, YOU should attend NUTRITION 2024. NUTRITION 2024 also is a “must attend” event for rising leaders in the field – postdoctoral fellows and undergraduate, graduate, and medical students. 

We are anticipating thousands of professional attendees from around the world.  Close to 3,000 attendees gathered in Boston, MA last year for NUTRITION 2023.  

NUTRITION 2024 is an in-person conference without a concurrent virtual component.  The focus on the in-person event ensures that those who attend will have the best possible experience. The deadline for NUTRITION 2024 session ideas was November 10, 2023. We will strive to get back to submitters of submission ideas by December 20 with comments, questions or a status update. 

The NUTRITION 2024 schedule and program will be available in late February 2024. Check back for more details!  

NUTRITION 2024 abstract submission opened on November 1, 2023. The deadline for submission is February 12, 2024. Click here to start an abstract submission.

The American Society for Nutrition (ASN) welcomes the submission of unpublished research in the form of abstracts for presentation at NUTRITION 2024.  

Abstracts can include: 

New research  Unpublished, original research and/or secondary analysis of data 
Methods  Newly established or characterized methods, or evaluations of existing methods 
Protocols  Descriptions of proposed studies, or recruitment and process results of newly started studies 
Case study A clinical vignette or case report disseminates new knowledge gained from clinical practice

The 2024 ASN Foundation Call for Nominations/Applications opened on November 1, 2023, and will close January 8, 2024.  More information on ASN awards including a complete list of award opportunities is available here. 

Abstract-based award competitions and abstract recognition awards will be held and given at NUTRITION 2024. ASN membership is required to be considered for these programs. Applications for award competitions and abstract recognition awards are accepted during the NUTRITION 2024 abstract submission process. Click here for more information. 

Physicians 

The American Society for Nutrition is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.  

Registered Dietitians 

The Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) recognizes live activities offered by ACCME accredited providers. One (1) hour of live lecture is equal to one (1) CPEU. For any additional questions, participants can contact CDR at CDR@eatright.org. 

Non-physician and Non-dietetic Healthcare Professionals 

ASN does not offer CME credit to non-physicians. However, all non-physician and non-dietetic healthcare professionals at NUTRITION 2024 will be able to complete an evaluation and download a Certificate of Participation. This certificate designates your participation in this education activity. It lists the amount of continuing medical education credit that has been designated for physicians by ASN. You should be able to use this documentation for your licensing or certification needs. To determine if activities designated for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ are acceptable for your licensing or certification needs, please contact your credentialing body directly. Please note ASN cannot guarantee its acceptance. 

Check back in spring 2024 for more details about the maximum continuing education credits that can be claimed at NUTRITION 2024.  

 

Continuing Medical Education (CME) for physicians and Continuing Professional Education (CPE) for registered dietitians will be available for select NUTRITION 2024 sessions. More information, including the maximum credits available to be claimed, will be posted in spring 2024. 

YesASN hosts multiple networking and interest group events and activities throughout the meeting. 

NUTRITION 2024 offers the ideal place to connect with colleagues, collaborators or potential partners.  Members, attendees, exhibitors, partners and affiliates may host meetings or social events in conjunction with NUTRITION 2024.

All meetings or social functions held in conjunction with NUTRITION 2024, outside of the official NUTRITION 2024 meeting program, are subject to ASN approval.

The American Society for Nutrition welcomes Late Breaking/Rapid Science submissions for NUTRITION 2024. This category of submissions is for high-impact scientific research for which results were not available by the February 12, 2024, general abstract submission deadline. 

These submissions should present data that are high impact, groundbreaking, innovative and newsworthy. This category is not a mechanism to update data submitted during the general abstract submission period. 

Please note that only a limited number of Late Breaking/Rapid Science Submissions will be accepted for presentation.

Yes. All presenters are REQUIRED to register and attend NUTRITION 2024 in person. 

A certificate of attendance verifies attendance/participation in the conference but does not indicate any continuing education available for the activity. 

All registered attendees are eligible to receive a Certificate of Attendance.

Yes. Reduced registration rates are available on a sliding scale. The earlier an attendee registers, the more affordable the registration rate! Register by 11:59 PM CT on April 5, 2024, to get the early registration discount rate. 

ASN has three registration tiers (Early, Advance, & Regular).  Rates vary depending on when you register. 

Yes. A Daily Pass may be purchased through registration for Saturday, Sunday, Monday or Tuesday. Daily Registration is only available for ONE dayMulti-day registrants will save by paying the full registration.

REGISTRATION CANCELLATION/REFUND POLICY  

Partial Refunds 

  • Cancellation requests received by 11:59 PM CT on April 5, 2024, will receive a 75% refund. 
  • Cancellation requests received between April 6 and 11:59 PM CT on May 17, 2024, will receive a 50% refund. 
  • No refunds will be given for no-shows.  

Non-Refundable  

  • After 11:59 PM CT on May 17, 2024, registration fees are non-refundable 
  • No-shows (registrants who do not attend) will not receive refunds. 
  • Donations to ASN are non-refundable.   
  • ASN One-year Join Now Membership fees are non-refundable.
  • Tickets to the Welcome Reception and ASN 2024 Class of Fellows, 50-Year Members, and Past Presidents Luncheon are non-refundable after 11:59 PM CT on May 17, 2024.
