3MT Competition & Meet the Fellows Breakfast

Date: Sunday 7/23, 6 – 7:30 AM

Location: Independence Ballroom

What to expect: Start your morning with free breakfast while listening to exciting research presentations and meet with the ASN Class of 2023 Fellows, the highest distinction bestowed upon an ASN member!

Event format: The event will start with breakfast coupled with 3-Minute-Thesis (3MT) competition for 40 minutes. Afterwards, you will rotate in four ~12 minutes round table sessions to chat with Fellows about their careers in academia, industry and government!

Date: Sunday 7/23, 7 – 9 PM

Location: Independence Ballroom

What to expect: For this event, we invited 35 professionals from academia, industry, government and non-profit organizations to share their experiences and first-hand insights into their field of expertise.

Event format: During the event, you will rotate in four ~20 minutes round table sessions to connect with 2-3 mentors per session. After the event, you can opt to stay for an extra 30 minutes to network more with the mentors, your peers, and SIG/ECN members!

Professional Development Seminar:
“Beyond the Science: Soft Skills for Nutrition Professionals”

Date: Monday 7/24, 2:15 – 3:30 PM

Location: Back Bay B-D

What to expect: This event aims to provide insights and knowledge about soft skills for nutrition professionals. Come and learn from 3 panelists from academia, industry and government sectors as they share their perspectives on the importance of soft skills, how they develop and utilize these skills in their daily work.

Event format: Each panelist will give ~12 mins talk on actionable tips to develop soft skills, followed by ~15 mins formal Q&A session, and ~15 mins networking session to interact with both panelists and fellow attendees!
