New Podcast from Advances in Nutrition: An International Review Journal

As Editor-in-Chief of Advances in Nutrition: An International Review Journal, I invite you to listen in to our new free podcast series Advances in Nutrition: An International Review Journal – The Podcast. These podcasts are for listeners who want to dig deeper into the reviews and perspectives published in the journal. You’ll learn about the people behind the science, what motivated them to take on their topics, and what implications their findings have for the future of nutrition science, public health, and healthcare. Moreover, you’ll discover where there are still research gaps that you may be able to help fill.

Advances in Nutrition: An International Review Journal – The Podcast is available directly from the journal’s home page, Buzzsprout, iTunes, Spotify, and other podcast platforms.

Typically about ten minutes each, our podcasts feature graduate students interviewing the authors of select reviews and perspectives published in Advances in Nutrition: An International Review Journal. Podcasts are designed to engage students, trainees, faculty, researchers, and clinicians in the nutrition sciences as well as in healthcare and public health, offering greater context and insight to enhance your understanding of the reviews and perspectives. Topics will include the full gamut of issues and challenges facing the nutrition science community around the world, from obesity research to personalized nutrition.

The first podcasts have already been posted, including an interview with Dr. Juan Rivera Dommarco, General Director of the Instituto Nacional de Salud Pública in Mexico. Dr. Dommarco discusses Mexico’s experiences—both positive and negative—in combatting obesity, explaining how Mexico’s approach to obesity may be adapted to different regions around the world. This podcast is available in both English and Spanish. Moving forward, we will offer more bilingual editions of select podcasts, as part of ASN Journals’ commitment to reach broader international audiences.

Initially, we will publish approximately one podcast a month, with the goal of increasing to two a month. Most importantly, we want to engage our listeners to find out what you think and what types of podcasts you’d like us to develop in the future.
