We are proud to announce American Society for Nutrition (ASN) Sustaining Partner, The National Dairy Council, has worked with the ASNF to establish the National Dairy Council Early Career Investigator Research Award. The award is offered through their establishment of an Endowment with the ASN Foundation.

The National Dairy Council has been a long-standing ASN Sustaining Partner and supporter of the Society’s student and early career member activities. The non-profit organization is committed to providing science-based education about the nutrition and health benefits that dairy foods provide; and recognizes that there is a shortage of early career investigators whose research advances the understanding of dairy’s role in health and wellness.

The National Dairy Council Early Career Investigator Research award will be presented to an investigator within 10 years of receiving a terminal degree whose scientific research advances the understanding of dairy’s role in health and wellness. Eligible recipients are conducting mechanistic, epidemiological, clinical, and/or translational research targeting the health effects of dairy and/or its contributions to a healthy eating pattern. Applicants must be a current member of ASN’s Early Career Nutrition (ECN) Professionals Interest Group.

Applications for this award are currently being accepted through January 9, 2023. Presentation of the award will be made beginning at Nutrition 2023 and every year thereafter. The National Dairy Council’s generous contribution to the ASNF Awards program will help advance the careers of investigators new to the field and further nutrition research for years to come.
