Abstracts

NUTRITION 2022 LIVE ONLINE will feature over 1200 virtual abstract presentations available to all meeting attendees representing the spectrum of nutrition science. Abstract presentations offer attendees the ideal opportunity to present their own research and learn more about their peers’ science.

During the meeting, virtual oral and poster presentations will be available on demand with no set presentation time, providing attendees and presenting authors maximum flexibility for their schedules. Meeting attendees will be able to submit questions to presenting authors through the virtual meeting platform.

Award Lectures

• George Bray Outstanding Scientific Achievements Award in Obesity Research to recognize a physician, clinician or investigator who has made a significant lifetime contribution to the field of obesity research.
• E.V. McCollum International Lectureship in Nutrition to encourage sound advancements in nutritional science and their application for improving the health and well-being of people worldwide and to commemorate the life and contributions of EV McCollum.
• Lifetime Achievements in Global Nutrition Research Award to honor lifetime achievements in international nutrition research to benefit populations in non-industrialized countries. (Formerly called the Kellogg Award for Lifetime Achievements in International Nutrition Research.)
• Robert Suskind and Leslie Lewinter-Suskind Pediatric Nutrition Lifetime Achievement Award to recognize a physician, clinician or investigator who has made a significant lifetime contribution to the field of pediatric nutrition.
• W.O. Atwater Memorial Lecture to recognize a scientist who has made unique contributions toward improving the diet and nutrition of people around the world in honor of Wilbur Olin Atwater (1844-1907), the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s first chief of nutrition investigations.

Special Events

NUTRITION 2022 LIVE ONLINE offers opportunities for attendees to interact with scientists and practitioners from around the globe and make connections with peers and colleagues across the field of nutrition. Events include:

• Hot-topic discussion sessions, mentoring activities and other special events hosted by the ASN’s Groups Engaging Members (GEMs), Research Interest Sections (RIS) and  Councils— vibrant scientific communities that are vital to advancing nutrition science.
• Connect with fellow Students and Young Professionals at activities coordinated by ASN’s Student Interest Group and Early Career Nutrition Interest Groups.

Late Breaking/Rapid Science Submissions

NUTRITION 2022 LIVE ONLINE will feature a Late-Breaking/Rapid Science oral session highlighting scientific research that is high impact, groundbreaking, innovative, and newsworthy.

These submissions should present data that are high impact, groundbreaking, innovative and newsworthy for which results were not available by the February 14, 2022 abstract submission deadline.

Please note only a maximum of four (4) Late-Breaking/Rapid Science submissions will be accepted for oral presentation at NUTRITION 2022 LIVE ONLINE. There will be no poster presentations for Late-Breaking/Rapid Science submissions.

Registration Award and Grant Opportunities

ASN is committed to making NUTRITION 2022 LIVE ONLINE accessible to everyone who wishes to participate.   By minimizing financial barriers and offering assistance with family care responsibilities we hope to ensure the best components of ASN’s annual flagship meeting — learning, connecting and sharing — are accessible to all.

Family Support Grants

ASN will offer Family Support Grants to scientists attending or presenting at NUTRITION 2022 LIVE ONLINE to off-set caregiving expenses for dependent children or family members.

Application Deadline was May 20, 2022.

Registration Reduction & Hardship Waivers

ASN has established a Registration Reduction/Hardship Waiver for registration to NUTRITION 2022 LIVE ONLINE for those who have been financially impacted such that they are otherwise unable to attend, or the full registration fee would present a hardship.
