The American Society for Nutrition (ASN) offers educational resources for medical schools and medical professionals to strengthen nutrition education and clinical practice. Our programs include live and recorded sessions, some offering continuing education credit, to help practitioners and students develop and maintain the nutrition knowledge, skills, and behaviors essential to improving patient care and health outcomes, as well as preventing and treating chronic disease.

National Board of Physician Nutrition Specialists (NBPNS)
The National Board of Physician Nutrition Specialists (NBPNS), a partner of the American Society for Nutrition, is a nonprofit credentialing organization dedicated to promoting excellence in medical nutrition. It certifies qualified physicians as Physician Nutrition Specialists (PNS) through a comprehensive process involving recognized nutrition training, clinical expertise, and evidence‑based assessment. Board certification by NBPNS reflects a high standard of competence in clinical nutrition and underscores a physician’s commitment to leadership in interdisciplinary nutrition care and education.
Nutrition in Clinical Practice
This clinically oriented CME/MOC course was designed by the American Society for Nutrition and the National Board of Physician Nutrition Specialists for clinicians interested in applying evidence-based nutrition to their practice. Course content tackles crucial nutrition topics that are directly relevant to everyday patient care and enhances treatment outcomes.
Originally presented in conjunction with NUTRITION 2025, ASN’s flagship meeting which was held May 31 to June 3 in Orlando, FL.
