The American Society for Nutrition’s journal portfolio continues to lead the field of nutrition science to improve health around the world through evidence-based nutrition

Rockville, MD (June 28, 2023) – The latest journal impact factors and rankings reflect the high-quality research that is published each year by the American Society for Nutrition (ASN).

Scopus recently ranked Advances in Nutrition the number one journal in the Nutrition and Dietetics field. The Society’s newest journal, Current Developments in Nutrition, surpassed expectations with an excellent inaugural impact factor of 4.8 confirming its promising future.

“I am delighted to receive such a superb first impact factor,” stated Jack Odle, PhD, William Neal Reynolds Distinguished Professor at North Carolina State University and Editor-in-Chief of Current Developments in Nutrition. “I am especially proud of the American Society for Nutrition which supported the bold and risky decision to launch Current Developments in Nutrition.  Everyone, including readers, authors, reviewers, editors, and journal staff share in this success, and collectively I ask you to join me in celebrating the advancement in nutrition scholarship embodied in our journal’s success.”

Both the Clarivate Impact Factors and Scopus CiteScores are widely regarded as the benchmark for assessing the impact and influence of scholarly journals worldwide.

Since 1928, ASN’s journals have been a resource and home for scientists doing work in the ever-expanding, interdisciplinary field of nutrition science. The portfolio is renowned for publishing articles of highest relevance and impact in both open access and hybrid formats.

ASN’s journals feature no-cost publishing options for its hybrid journals, The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition and The Journal of Nutrition, and prominent open access opportunities in all four journals allowing readers to have free, immediate access to content.

Authors recently surveyed expressed high levels of satisfaction with the quality of peer review received from all four ASN journals and valued the subsequent improvements to their manuscripts.

“The Society remains committed to providing the highest quality platform for scholarly discourse in the interdisciplinary field of nutrition,” stated Martha A. Belury, PhD, RD, President, American Society for Nutrition. “We thank our editorial boards, as well as our authors and reviewers, for their commitment to rigor and their dedication to advancing the science and practice of nutrition.”
