The American Society for Nutrition (ASN) and the ASN Foundation (ASNF) are pleased to announce the call for nominations for the 2026 Scientific Achievement Awards and Fellows Programs.
This is your opportunity to recognize leaders, innovators, and rising stars who are making a lasting impact in nutrition science, education, and practice.
All awardees will be honored at NUTRITION 2026, July 25–28, 2026, in National Harbor, MD, just outside Washington, DC.






ASN Foundation Scientific Achievement Awards
- Lifetime Achievement Awards: For established investigators with distinguished careers
- Investigator and Educator Awards: For investigators who are 10 or more years past their terminal degree
- Early Career Investigator Awards: For investigators less than 10 years past their terminal degree
- ASN Journal Research Publishing Awards: For investigators at all career stages
- Fellowship, Scholarships and Funding Opportunities: For students and early career investigators
- Other Awards: For scientists/nutrition professionals at all career stages
Excellence in Nutrition Fellow Recognition Program
The Excellence in Nutrition Fellow of the American Society for Nutrition (FASN) program is a prestigious recognition for ASN members who are advancing the field of nutrition through exceptional work.
Who should be nominated? Candidates who:
- Have been an ASN Scientist, Clinician, or Professional member for 5+ years
- Are 10+ years past their terminal degree
- Have demonstrated significant, sustained impact in nutrition research and/or translation
- Have held leadership roles within ASN
- Remain actively engaged in their profession and continue to make meaningful contributions

ASN Foundation Distinguished Fellows Program
The Distinguished Fellow of ASN (DFASN) program, established in 1952, is the highest honor bestowed by the American Society for Nutrition, recognizing members with notable lifetime achievements in the field. Since its inception, the program has honored more than 500 scientists for their distinguished careers and contributions to nutrition.
