Nestlé’s Research & Development (R&D) organization is the largest in the food and beverage industry, with around 4,100 employees working at 23 locations worldwide. Through our R&D organization, we innovate with purpose to unlock the power of food and deliver tasty, nutritious, affordable and sustainable products for people and pets - today, and for generations to come. In 2023, Nestlé invested about CHF 1.7 billion in R&D.
Research Support:
Whether the focus is on developing delicious plant-based foods that support healthier, more sustainable diets, solutions to tackle packaging waste, affordable nutrition for all, or personalized nutrition, we’re constantly improving our products and services and innovating to create new ones.
To complement our internal capabilities, we collaborate with external partners, including a number of world-class academic institutions to further the research and innovation in key areas.
University students can embark on PhD or Master's internships in our R&D centers globally, enabling them to translate their research into real-life solutions, while developing their practical skills in state-of-the-art facilities.
We also work with startups and students to strengthen entrepreneurship. Our network of R&D Accelerators brings employees, startups and students together to work on a specific project for six months. They can fully leverage Nestlé's R&D expertise, shared labs, kitchens and production equipment, helping them to develop and test novel innovations in real market conditions.
