Nestlé Research and Development

About

Nestlé’s Research & Development (R&D) organization is the largest in the food and beverage industry, with around 4,000+ employees working at 22 locations worldwide. Through our R&D organization, we innovate with purpose to unlock the power of food and deliver tasty, nutritious, affordable and sustainable products for people and pets - today, and for generations to come. Annually, Nestlé invests about CHF 1.7 billion in R&D.

Research Support:

We have wide-ranging science and technology expertise in areas such as nutrition and taste, food safety and quality, affordability and cost, sustainability, as well solutions that ensure the future supply of raw materials. Our R&D efforts leverage our strategic cross-category science and technology platforms, such as biotics, proteins, digital nutrition or system technologies.

To complement our internal capabilities, we collaborate with external partners, including a number of world-class academic institutions to further the research and innovation in key areas.

University students can embark on PhD or Master's internships in our R&D centers globally, enabling them to translate their research into real-life solutions, while developing their practical skills in state-of-the-art facilities.

Regional innovation centers in China, India, West Africa, South-East Asia, Latin America and North America play a key role in our commitment to developing products that cater local needs. These centers integrate into their respective local innovation ecosystems, allowing us to effectively address the unique demands and preferences of each region.
